Cyprus Holiday Villa V352

Cyprus - Paphos, Polis
3 Bedrooms, 3 Shower rooms, Sleeps 8

Tradition and culture are core objectives for the Agrotourism initiative and traditional houses are being renovated to protect and promote both the natural and built environment and this is one such example. The owner has gone to great lengths to convert her Grandmother's traditional Cypriot house right in the centre of Polis, into a modern comfortable residence licenced by the CTO. Original stone floors, wooden beamed ceilings, and many items of furniture, have been skillfully restored to their former glory and, with the addition of many modern conveniences, the result combines the essence of modern day living with an atmosphere of tradition and all this is set in grounds where homegrown vegetables, fruit and herbs are centred around protected and ancient Hellenistic ruins.

The main house comprises of a kitchen/diner and separate living area. The living area features a working corner fireplace, satellite TV (limited channels), DVD/CD player. The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The dining table comfortably seats 6.
The double bedroom has it's own en-suite shower room, and there is a twin bedroom and a separate shower room. A double sofa bed is available in the master bedroom of the main house. Air conditioning units are installed throughout the main house and the studio (5 units in total *). The self contained studio comprises of a double bedroom with en-suite shower facilities and a kitchen equipped with an electric oven and hob, refridgerator with ice box, mini dishwasher and it's own small private terrace to the rear of the kitchen.

The property boasts several additional features including wireless internet access, a safety deposit box, 3 bicycles provided for guests use and a lap top which can be rented locally.

Outside the villa is a spa pool which can be heated and the surrounding terrace area is furnished with 2 sunbeds, 4 sun chairs, a table & chairs, a poolside shower, an umbrella and traditional clay oven. Lawned gardens.

Please Note: Due to the sensitive nature of the properties and their contents, the owner is regrettably unable to accept bookings from parties with children under the age of 10 years.

Smoking is not permitted inside these properties.

An additional studio, is occasionally used for visits by the friendly and hospitable owners who always offer a warm welcome to their guests.

Location - Paphos, Polis

The villa is situated right in the heart of Polis, the principal town for the northwest region. This traditional town, huddled around a pedestrianised square is a great place to browse the many shops, enjoy a coffee watching the world pass by or dine at any of the wide selection of restaurants, tavernas and cafes which radiate out from the centre. The town has an archaeological museum and cultural centre. Approximately 2 kilometres from the villa is the coarse sand and shingle beach backed by tall Eucalyptus trees. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for hire and a restaurant/snack bar can provide refreshments.

Approximately 3.5 kilometres along the coast from Polis is the seaside resort of Latchi with its recently opened 200 berth marina. Here you will find an array of inviting sea-front tavernas with a superb selection of fresh fish and seafood served daily. Just beyond Latchi you will find the well known 'Baths of Aphrodite' and for nature lovers the protected Akamas Peninsular an area particular suited to walkers and adventurers who can explore the many criss-crossed nature trails. The coastline of this area can also be enjoyed by boat with daily excursions available from the marina. Beyond Latchi you will find the well known 'Baths of Aphrodite' and for the more adventurous explorer the protected Akamas Peninsular with its many walking trails.

The undeveloped beaches of the Argaka area stretch along a natural coastline of coarse sand, shingle and pebble. For a day here you will need to bring your own beach mat and umbrella. Refreshments can be found at one of the tavernas scattered along the coastal road or you can take a cool box and lunch under the shade of the trees in one of the designated picnic areas.

If you would like to experience a more authentic side of Cyprus then take the time to explore some of the inland villages of the northwest region. By getting off the beaten path you'll discover such delights as village cultural centres and museums, galleries, Churches and wineries with free wine tasting!

Polis and the surrounding villages count bowling, go-karting, fishing, cycling, watersports and scuba diving amongst the many activities on offer to visitors. The Minthis Hills Golf Course is approximately 30 minutes drive away.

Paphos Town, approximately 40 minutes drive away, was once the capital of the island and is now included in the official UNESCO list of cultural and natural treasures of the world's heritage. The remains of villas, palaces, theatres, fortresses and tombs mean that the town is of exceptional architectural and historic value. The well preserved mosaics and the Tombs of the Kings are probably the biggest cultural draw with further archaeological discoveries continually being made. Ano Pafos on the cliff is the main administrative centre and residential district while Kato Pafos, by the sea, is the main tourist area built around the harbour and medieval port. More modern entertainment facilities in Paphos include shopping facilities, markets, a Waterpark, bowling alley, aquarium and the Paphos Bird and Animal Park with its daily parrot shows.
