Location - Paphos, Neo Chorio

Aptly known as the ‘Gateway to the Akamas', Neo Chorio is situated in the hills overlooking the coastline of the Chrysochous Bay on the edge of the Akamas peninsula. This modern style villa is just one of 5 villas in a small private development in a quiet location just above the village of Neo Chorio. The centre of the village is approximately 900 metres away and here the architecture is dominated by stone houses and narrow winding streets which exude a traditional Cypriot atmosphere. With two Cypriot tavernas, a small grocery store and a couple of ‘kafenions' where locals gather to socialize and chat over thick, strong coffee the theme of the village is laid back.

The Akamas peninsular covering approximately 230 square kilometres is where you will find wild landscape, amazing natural beauty, deep gorges and wide sandy bays. The diversity of wildlife is of outstanding ecological importance for the Mediterranean and the wide variety of fauna is certainly impressive. This area of outstanding natural beauty is criss crossed with many walking trails which makes Neo Chorio the perfect base if you enjoy walking, painting, bird watching and photography.

Of interest to the visitor are Triskelion Pottery where exquisite, hand made reproductions of ancient Cypriot ceramics are produced using original methods and materials and the Hawkins Art Studio with its permanent display of original paintings, drawings and books by Harry and Sheila Hawkins residents in the area for many years.

Just because you prefer to stay inland doesn't mean you have to miss out on the beach experience. Just below Neo Chorion, approximately 5 kilometres away, is the seaside resort of Latchi. The coarse sand and shingle beaches have sunbeds and umbrellas for hire, several restaurants/snack bars providing refreshments and for the more energetic a watersports centre. With its recently opened 200 berth marina, it's along this waterfront that you will find an array of inviting sea-front tavernas with a superb selection of fresh fish and seafood served daily.

Polis the principal town for the northwest region is approximately 8 kilometres away. This traditional town, huddled around a pedestrianised square is a great place to browse the many shops, enjoy a coffee watching the world pass by or dine at any of the wide selection of restaurants, tavernas and cafes which radiate out from the centre. The town has an archaeological museum and cultural centre. Polis also has on organized sand and shingle beach backed by tall Eucalyptus trees.

Polis and the surrounding villages count bowling, go-karting, fishing, cycling, watersports and scuba diving amongst the many activities on offer to the visitor. The Minthis Hills Golf Course is approximately a 40 minute drive away. The town of Paphos with its World Heritage Sites, modern shopping facilities, waterpark and attractive harbour area is within a 50 minute drive.
