Beaches & Scuba Diving in and around Paphos
The blue waters around Paphos are clean and alluring. Many of the beaches have been awarded the EU blue flag for their high level of cleanliness and facilities offered.
Many of the beaches in Paphos also offer water sports including jet skiing, parasailing, snorkelling, diving, and fishing. You can also try out waterskiing and windsurfing at Coral Bay.
Beaches in Paphos are a natural attraction and the golden sands are perfect for sunbathing or enjoying a game of beach volleyball. These beaches are relaxing, child friendly, and perfect for all the family. With a wide range of activities on hand to entertain teenagers and adults alike a day at the beach will never be boring. Some of the beaches are:
Coral Bay
Located approximately 5 miles north of Paphos, Coral Bay beach is considered to be the best beach near Paphos and indeed in all of Cyprus. It can be reached easily by car or bus. This area is a beautiful horseshoe shaped bay and because of its gradual slopes the fun children have is endless. Also located at Coral Bay beach is a beach café for when you get hungry or thirsty and with calm clear shallow waters make it perfect for children. It's the perfect place to spend the day.
Pachyammos
The sandy-pebble beach stretches for kilometers, running the full length of the village and then curving around towards the northern tip of the island.
Faros
Also known as the Lighthouse Beach and situated in the Paphos tourist area, close to Poseidonos Avenue. Well signposted, the beach is accessible by bus, car, and on foot. There are water sports, sun beds and umbrellas available. Bars, restaurants and telephones are also available nearby. The quality of the water is tested frequently and the beachfront is cleaned everyday. Lifeguards are on duty from 11:00 to 17:30 hours during the season.
